So I own 4 Ryzen chips. 2 1700 a 1600 and a 1700x. The 1700x and 1600 we're launch day chips and the one 1700 has never been oced. Now I today I purchased a 1700 GTX 1050ti and 16gb ddr4 memory for $300. All NIB. So I had a spare x370 pro from Asus (launch day board) and an ASrock b350 pro 4. Well I decided to fire up the new 1700 on the x370 board with an updated bios. Holy crap am I impressed. This is my current OCs

R5-1600 3.9GHz

1.4V-1.425V

65*C

95W package under load

R7-1700 4.0GHz

1.375-1.4V

48*C

52W package load

R7-1700x no OC (day 1)

1.4-1.43V (stock)

75*C

98W package load

This  1700 is a silicon lottery beast! I'm using an h100i v2. I managed to get the ram to 3000MHz on the 1700+x370 board.

EDIT: Turns out when you change the voltage the multiplier stays stuck at 15. So I can't get it to overclock.

That 1700 is beast dude, How long did you test for btw?

At 1.375V only about half an hour. I ran it at 1.425 and 1.4 for about the same length. Ran Aida64.

His CPU, GPU and ram were sealed.

If we're talking about silicon lottery, I guess I'll share my story.

Granted it's using fewer cores, but my 1600X is Prime95 stable at 4.0 GHz and 1.337v (pretty leet voltage if I say so myself).

This thing plays Doom at 40-50 C on a 212 Evo and renders video in Davinci Resolve (100% CPU usage) below 70 C. I can't believe I got this damn lucky.

Every time I use my PC I'm glad I chose Ryzen. Lol.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A
