So I have been in need of a new GPU for a while but it seems like I choose the wrong time to start since of the whole mining extravaganza. I have a gtx 550 ti 1gb card paired with a i3 6300 with 8gb of ddr4 at 2133. I don't play triple A titles, I tend to play more esport kind of games or older games. I also play at 1080p at 60hz. So I'm wondering what kind of card would suit me well for my needs. My PSU is also a seasonic 520watt fully modular just in case the card might be power hungry. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

The mining hits mostly AMD side and 1070's and 1060's from Nvidia, i wouldn't be too worried about mid range GPUs.

Take a look at pricing trends:

1050Ti is the most stable pricing wise. I'd go there to be honest, or if you consider used hardware 970 has the best bang for buck in Green team, higher performing GPUs than these are rather a waste, and AMD GPUs were kidnapped for mining purposes so nowhere to be found.
