is this strange looking blue cable not a eSata port but some sort of USB?

Does it have 19 pins? (10x2, with one missing at the corner)

if so, then yeah, it's an internal USB 3.0 connector.

look on your motherboard manual to see where that is on your motherboard.

Hi there!

I have a case (Fractal Design R5) and it uses eSata connector (if I'm not mistaked) to connect the motherboard to front USB 3.0. The thing is that my motherboard doesn't have eSata connector but I really want to use my front usb 'cause reaching the ones on the back is such  a pain. Is there any way to solve my problem?

Thank you! In this lovely commynity I trust! ;-)

It shouldn't use eSATA. eSATA is specifically only for external stuff.

it would use a USB 3.0 connector for USB 3.0

Yes, it does have 19 pins, so it's just a USB 3.0 connector and I confused it with eSata. Thank you so much! Have a nice day!

Yes. It's an internal USB 3 connector. Connect it to your motherboard and you could use your case front panel USB.
