Hello everyone,

I plan on upgrading my pc over Christmas. I currently have a mini-itx build in a Bitfenix Prodigy case, I am going to buy myself the new prodigy-M case which allows me to use a micro-ATX motherboard, it will allow me to still have a small and portable machine. My rig is primarily used for work, I create large scale virtual terrain for video games and animations (requires a LOT of RAM). Plus, I like to play some high end games on some ultra settings. I just need some help on selecting some parts to put in the new beast.

These are the parts in the mini-itx build that I plan on moving into the new build:

- Intel i7 3770 3.4 ghz

- gtx 660

- my hard drives, fans etc.

Here are the parts I need to buy for my new build (I need you guys to suggest what brands/models would be best)

(I don't really have a budget, I just want a powerful pc without going crazy on spending)

-Bitfenix Prodigy-M

- Micro-ATX moherboard

- I need 32gb of RAM. (it is for work, I create large-scale virtual terrain for video games and animations)

- 2x gtx 770's or a gtx 780ti  (This will eventually be added)
- new pcu that can handle everything, but still fit in the bitfenix prodigy-m case

- cpu cooler (not water cooling)

As of right now, that is pretty much all I need.

Thanks!

Are you fussed about looks?

Yes and no, I do like it to look neat and tidy from the outside but i'm not too worried about cable management. If you are talking about the case, I have searched around and have my heart set on the prodigy-m

Well the absolute best would be Rampage IV Gene with 64GB of RAM and probably a 4930K, but that ain't a cheap set up. Step down from that would just be a 4770K in any decent mATX Z87 mobo, however for dual graphics you'd have to grab one of the higher end mobo options such as the Asus Gryphon :)

If you really think you will end up with two 780 Tis or similiar, 850W would be good, something like the Cooler Master V850 is usually a good deal

Current rig: i5 4670K | GTX 670 | Asus Z87I-Pro | Silverstone Strider Plus 600W | Custom mITX case | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Samsung 840 120GB | G430 | CM Storm Quickfire Pro - MX Red | LG 21.5"

No point in getting a new CPU like the 4770K, when he already has 3770.

OP: Get a mATX board of choice, as much RAM as you need, a normal 780 with a 750W PSU so you can SLI in the future. If you can go AMD, go with 290 with a nice cooler, but with 850W. For cooling, Hyper 212 EVO will do the job since your CPU is locked.

My rig: CPU: Intel core i5 4670K MoBo: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 2x4GB 1600mhz CL9 GPU: EVGA GTX780 SC ACX SSD: ADATA Premier Pro SP900 256GBHDD: Western Digital RED 2TB PSU: FSP Aurum CM 750W Case: Cooler Master HAF XM OS: Windows 8 Pro

I work with worldmachine and terragen. I Iive in Australia and will most likely buy from pccasegear.com. And like I said, I dont exactly have a budget, but there is no need to go crazy on spending.

If you're not in a hurry, I'd recommend waiting for aftermarket 290's.
