Normally i would advise people to buy headphones and mic, but there are tweaks that you can make mic or phones sound better.

Platronics are good, put two to 3 layers of soft tissue or toilet paper in each cup if you find highs fatieguing or piercing. It has good bass, that i would consider a must for enjoyment.
