Ryzen RAM Compatibility

Will ASRock X370 Taichi work with GSkill TridentZ RGB F4-3000C15D-16GTZR.

YES! i have the taichi and a 3200 mhz kit of that ram and it works like a charm with the 2.40 bios update, they are basically the same as the non rgb versions. 

They won´t budge from 2133 though without the agesa 1.0.0.6 bios update

It's not explicitly listed so in the memory qvl list. It'll work with the board, you just might not be able to hit 2933 MHz.

Note though that it looks like the Taichi got agesa 1.0.0.6 so chances are you can get it to 2933 MHz.

 

Theres no doubt it'll physically work, the only question is if you can hit 2933

They aren´t listed as an rgb kit but they have the same samsung B die´s as the non rgb trident z´s

Nope, it's not b die. Only 3000 MHz cl14 is b die, this is cl15

yeah ur right i just checked my rams and they are hynix A-die´s, they work with the 2.40 bios with AGESA 1.0.0.6 on their 3200 mhz xmp profile without a hitch tho.

Yeah 1.0.0.6 really helped ram compatibility on Ryzen so I wouldn't be surprised if op could get their kit working at 2933 no issue.

 

Side note, were you able to hit 3200 before 1.0.0.6 or not?

without the agesa update this kit refused to budge with standard clocks from 2133 on the taichi

Wow, so it really was a huge improvement then.

 

That's good to know, it looks like we have hope for the future when we don't have to check memory qvl lists all the time!

yeah i was fiddling with it for a while and it kept getting stuck in it's memory training loop and then revert back to 2133, the second i patched to 2.40 i hit the xmp profile and they ran perfectly.

Depends tho i've been reading a lot that other manufacturers are having some issues still but the qvl lists grow pretty fast, asrock added another 20-30ish products to the list this week.
