Nikon J1 lens problems

Turn off AF (manual mode), switch from apeture or whatever your on to manual and you should be good to go. At least thats how it was on my V1 way back when, but IIRC the menus are all the same. Might need to set manual shutter too...

hello ! I have a Nikon 1 J1 camera and I want to take pictures with my telescope. I have an adapter but it doesn't have the electronics contact (cus, ya know. its a adaptor) 

 

the camera turns on, the display shows a blurred image (duh through the adaptor...) but I have a message saying I can't take pictures because it doesn't detect a lense.

 

what can I do to take pictures regardless ?

Good to know the old memory still works.

 

Side notes: the 1 mount glass can be pretty pricey. The abundance of adapters and cheap, old, full manual glass is pretty good. Just sucks nikon dont have any focus peaking and the auto-metering & etc dont like working without chipped lenses. Good to learn photography on though...

yeah but for telescopes, well the focus is done with the telescope itself. no lense (well, technically the mirror are the lenses)
