nexus 4 music stuttering (4.4 kit kat)

I upgraded my nexus 4 to 4.4 kitkat yesterday. and ever since when I unlock my phone whatever music is playing stutters, I've found it only does this over Bluetooth though.

any help is greatly appreciated
