Help planning a very, very small budget pc

h.tml

I'm looking to make a major upgrade later this year(As in, late December-early January), because the current pc I have, while it isn't the absolute worst thing, it has major drawbacks.

The reason I'm emphasizing the very small budget part is due to the fact that the budget will only be about 300-350 USD.

I know its a very tight budget, especially for gaming (nothing extremely new, mostly to try and run some of the games that this current pc cant handle, like Skyrim on low or hopefully medium settings)

As a reference as to what I'm using right now: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04798706 (the only difference is that I added 4 more gigs for a total of 8)

Honestly, I'm not really picky as to what brands are in it, mostly because I can't really afford to be very specific, but if possible I was hoping maybe an Intel cpu, and a cube-ish case ( like this one )

Also, maybe to cut back on costs, would it possible to use any of the components from this computer?

Thanks in advance!

Buy used to save costs and you should be able to get a Sandy Bridge Core i5 or i7 with 8gb ram and a gtx 770 or 970 graphics card all for $300 USD (i got all of this for only $300 aud so I know it is possible)

But something like a Sandy Bridge i7 will completely crush that Pentium.

If I reuse the hdd off of this, would the fact that its an OEM copy of windows be an issue?

ive never really done anything like this before, buying parts/constructing a computer is a whole new thing to me, so sorry if I ask stupid questions

Okay so I've been doing research and just looking to see what would work

Sadly, I can't do used parts, but I was able to put together a list on pc part picker that I wanted to get double checked on here:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FWymZ8

Do you think that this would work well?

no, the G4400 will bottleneck hard, 4gb isn't enough for gaming, and the psu is garbage. spend more for better parts or get used, $300 isn't enough.
