Installation?

I want a fresh install of a windows on a secondary laptop because it's not running well. It has an Intel Celeron running at 1.6 ghz, 2gb of ram, and 32 gb of storage. I have media creation tools of both Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 Home. Idk which Windows would work best. Help?

Newer Windows versions usually use less resources

See, the thing is, I have a desktop with windows 10 installed but i also have a backup laptop (the one im talking about now). I think it would be pretty boring to have another windows 10 install so I was thinking i could get 8.1. But I heard its pretty bad. Or i could get windows 7.

Windows 10 would be the best, but if you want something that's less boring, you could try a Linux distro, or android (in the form of remix OS)

Ubuntu is a fairly light OS. Might help maximize that Celeron
