Switching from dedicated to integrated graphics SOLVED!!!

aprofile

Hi,

I have just sold my graphics card on ebay but I need to take it out of my PC now. I cannot force my PC to use the integrated graphics on the CPU. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

plug the display cable into your motherboard, if that doesn't work then go into bios and set it there

Tried both. If I plug it in to the mobo I get no signal and if I set it in the BIOS without the GPU installed it makes no difference.

I dunno then

Could uninstalling my GPU and resetting the CMOS work?

it could, you may also wanna try uninstalling the driver and using the generic windows/whateveros driver

I have already tried uninstalling the driver. I am going to update my BIOS first I think.

It should just work with no issues. Power down the unit and connect the display directly to your motherboard. Use an analog connection like VGA if possible. This should work fine if your GPU worked.

Ok. Should I remove my GPU first or doesn't it matter?

Now sorted. I had the first BIOS that supported kaby lake CPUs but it must have been incompatible with the iGPU. Is there any way to mark this as solved?
