Its just a way for your remote workstation to bypass the extra steps when you send a print job to the printer. So instead of making say 5 network hops to get the data to the printer it will only make 2 for instance. Basically it reduces network traffic that is not needed to send the data.

i did understand that but  i wanna  know how ?, i mean the print server must be connected directly  to the printers then how can you bypass the print server in the first place is beyond my understanding

usually you have more in between you and the server and the server is sent the workload and passes it to the printer. With this the information still goes through the print server but it lets you connect directly to the printer.

 

Its like the print server is a toll booth on a toll road. Normally you stop and pay, but some toll roads have like easy passes that just scan you through so you don't stop because you don't need to be stopped any more. The cars are the data packets. Having easy pass is like branch office direct printing. If your packets don't need to stop they move faster and are more reliable. That isn't exactly what is happening but its as close as I can come with an analogy.
