Need Help Buying New GPU

So I just discovered how much the RX 400 and 500 series cards were going for on ebay and listed my rx 470 immediately. Currently, the highest bid is $320 and I might even get around 350 for it, but there have been similar cards go for around $400. So I've been looking to get a gtx 1060 but don't know really which one. Which is the best card in the $200-300 price range that I should get and that is actually available?  (It would be nice to pay around 250-275 but don't really want to go any higher).

The problem is that i only have a i3-6100 in my PC. Anything more, even if I could buy it, would be bottlenecked by my CPU.

Doesn't matter, a bottlenecked 980Ti is better than a 1060 anyway. At least if you get the 980Ti you can upgrade your CPU later without having to upgrade your GPU again.

I'll keep a look out for both of those cards. If I were to get a new one, what would you recommend?

Save up a bit for a 1070, if your card goes for $350+

I think the cheapest 1060 you can get is a "KFA² GTX 1060 3GB" for around 200€

But Shiv78 is right, a bottlenecked graphics Card is better in your case since you pretty much have to upgrade your cpu at some Point in the near future

Now my opinion, high end PC is using 850W> PSU and contains 2 Video Cards like what you said and 32GB Of RAM. Not leaving at least Ryzen 8 Core

I agree, thats a high end set up!

I mean im in the top 14% of 3D Mark Time Spy Benchmarks but if you consider the gap between me and the top 1% you can say my pc is pretty far from high end

He has an 6xxx Series cpu, i think the i7 6xxx and 7xxx are pretty expensive and an i5 would be enough anyways if the pc is just for gaming

I think high end is ten percent

But how about the GTX 970? I think it can last for three years for the performance

You could say that yeah, but you have to consider the gap, im around 7200 at top 14 percent, the top 1 percent have a score of around 13.000 if i remember correctly

Are the R9 290x going for more than they should be right now too because of mining?  I've been looking at upgrading to a GTX 1070 or 1080 myself and I see the 290x listed for 250-400+ on eBay, more than I expected for a 4 year old card.

FWIW, the rest of my PC is an i5-6600k @ 4GHz and I use a 1440p Qnix monitor that caps out around 110hz.  So no freesync or G-sync but I'm definitely bottlenecked by gpu.

Umm, the 1060 is more expensive so you could not compare those.

but AMd succeeded to beat GTX 970 with 390X
