Any thoughts on whether I should get a iPad Pro? Im thinking about one just because I will have some extra money from the summer and I can see it being useful. I will be a senior in highschool but I plan to go to college. Do you guys know if I can get any textbooks on it?

yes but it depends on the textbook if its on iTunes U or iBooks or if you can find PDFs of it/get a website from the physical book like many High Schools do.

I would get this iPad Pro:

Best specs on any tablet and iOS 11 will give it real multi tasking and a file system and will make it a viable laptop replacement for the basics.

Don't get the normal iPad. The iPad Pro is a night and day difference in everything. So many corners had to be cut on the iPad to get the price that low.

You won't get the 120Hz display thats laminated, the A10X SOC, 4GB of RAM, the iPhone 7 camera, quad speakers, no Apple Pencil support, and less storage.

To people saying get a laptop, there is a huge difference in size, weight and portability between a laptop and an ipad. I can damn near fit a 10.5 inch display ipad into a large cargo pants pocket, and its feather weight. Ipads are just so much more portable. They also have a much higher resolution display than any similiarly priced laptop. Plus the ipad has no boot up time and is silky smooth for web browsing, gaming and watching tubes and movies. I've owned laptops in the past, and always thought lugging them around was such a pain in the ass that I rarely took them anywhere. I've never owned an Ipad or even a tablet, but they just seem so much more portable and convenient to keep with you. Plus charging the thing doesn't require this big heavy AC adapter, and the battery on an ipad will usually last way longer.

So whether or not you want the ipad over the laptop depends on how much you value this portability and quick ease of use. Yes it does have its limitations if you are doing lots of work with it all day long, so the bulk of a laptop are better in some cases. Also, where I live its freezing cold for half of the year, so if I bring a bring a laptop or tablet somewhere, its going to have to stay with me the whole time I'm away from my car, and id much rather have a tablet than some heavy bulky laptop.

So there are definitely big advantages for an Ipad, especially one this powerful and with a high resolution 120 hz display. No used laptop or new laptop in that price range is going to come close.
