So, remember that build I was putting together for my friend.... got a great deal on a 1050, but now there's another issue...

Trying to complete the Win 10 Pro installation so I can benchmark the system and give it to her, except I get a blue screen 13% of the way into the install, always relating to fltmgr.sys

I've tried swaping gpu's, RAM sticks, different DIMM slots, changed the BIOS to use IDE mode instead of ACHI. Even Windows 7 won't install either. I updated the BIOS right before I left for work, but I'm not sure that will do anything... any other thoughts?

All I can find online is likely faulty hardware, make sure you don't have a stray motherboard standoff touching the back of the mobo shorting things out. Unplug and firmly reseat all power and sata cables, if it still happens it could either be cpu or mobo failure

I think the CPU is the culprit.... I remembered this particular system originally had an i3-530 and this never happened before the Xeon went in. Thankfully the eBay seller I picked up than Xeon from takes returns, and agreed to a replacement.
