Hi guys.I am looking to buy a new laptop soon.It will mainly be used for boring work stuff though I would like to be able to do some casual gaming on it as well.I don't need it to play the latest triple a games though I would like to be able to do some gaming. I was looking for something with a core i7. Should I be looking for something with a dedicated graphics chip or do you think the Intel graphics will be enough to get by on.

Thanks.

depends what games at what resolutions

something like League or Dota and CS will run on anything, but something like GTA, nope.

I am pretty sure the Kaby Lake iGPU is enough to do even more 'heavy' gaming but ehh

If you want performance, make sure you're not getting a Y or U series i5/i7. Intel has renamed their m5/m7 CPUs to i5/i7.

Y = really shit, like 7w 1.5ghz.

U = ultra shit, 15w 2.4ghz

M/HQ the way to go :P

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
