Thinking about buying a gaming laptop within the next couple of months and with my own research found two that seem like good choices and am not sure which one would be the best to go with. (I do have a budget of around $1200-1500 so if you know of any others besides what I found that would be great.)

I found the SAGER NP8156 (CLEVO P650HP6-G) and the ASUS GL502VS-DS71 ROG Strix. I liked both of these choices because they sport an SSD with a HDD and a 7700HQ.

Would like some more help with this decision. I thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Get the clevo from this site since it uses the prema mod vbios, which unlocks the power limit a bit more for the mobile 10-series chips.

Or wait a few months when you actually are going to buy your stuff, and ask again with completely different laptops/prices.

Things will probably be around the same here in a few months, unless amd makes a comeback in the laptop market with ryzen mobile and those 65w 580's that they've been showing off.
