im having trouble starting my HP Z400 workstation, I'm trying to switch out the psu (corsair cx 550m)  since it doesn't have all of the necessary  connectors  for a new gpu (gtx 1070). I know everything works because I tested the psu in another computer and it works there, also I know that the workstation itself works because it boots fully with the old psu. So help?

Hello!

I do question as to of whether you mean that the included PSU with the system is the Corsair 550m or that is the PSU you deem to swap the current one with.

Anyhow, my recommendation, despite the tediousness, is to re look at everything, and thoroughly check that you have connected everything correctly. Make sure CPU Power is in properly as with the motherboard ATX power.

If you know it works then it will probably be a simple error. Have you dislodged anything else in the process like the front panel connections or alike?

Try adding the older PSU back in again to see if something else in the computer is causing the problem?

I once did the unthinkable, back many headphones ago...

I split an audio split, again

The new psu is corsair, old one is from delta. Also I have tried several times with both of them and every time it works with the old psu, and gives the same error code of insufficient power (4 beeps)
