My current build was built in summer of 2009.  I am hoping I can use my existing case, a Cooler Master Sileo 500 (link).  

 

Do not need

  • Case (link)
  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Printer
  • Monitor
  • HDDs
  • Blu-ray drive
  • OS

Need

  • PSU
  • Motherboard
  • CPU
  • GFX card
  • Memory
  • SSD for primary drive (256GB should do, other storage will be existing HDD and NAS)


My primary uses of this computer are:  (++ being most important, I do these task often and + being occasionally do these task, acceptable performance ok)

++ General use (web browsing, video viewing, MS Office, etc)

++ Video Editing and encoding

++ Photo editing (Photoshop, Picasa, etc)

+ 3D CAD (SolidWorks)

+ Gaming (I am a mostly a console gamer

That cooler won't be any better than the stock one.

 

The psu isn't great plus you only need 550W for a single gpu. The CXM (Grey label) is a better budget option.
