I bought a GTX 1060 3GB by MSI today and hooked it up to my PC. It worked perfectly and MSI Afterburner detected it and all game ran smooth at 60fps. I just factory reset my PC and MSI Afterburner says I'm running a Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor. I tried re-putting my GPU, installing the drivers (which told me it wasn't compatible with my version of Windows 10 64bit), tried updating Windows 10 and trying the drivers still no luck. Any suggestions?

delete drivers. Do a clean uninstall and download the correct ones from the nvidia driver website

did you DDU the previous drivers?

DDU to fully uninstall, then reinstall.

DDU  = a program called Display Driver Uninstaller.

Its a full system factory reset, shouldn't the drivers all ready be deleted?

if you reinstalled windows, then yeah.

try it anyway, just in case the first install messed up or something.

Said this version of Windows is not compatible, even though I have the most up to date version of Windows 64bit.

download one of the older drivers from the nvidia website and try to install them, maybe it's just a bug in the latest version.
