cd/ dvd wont show up

so I went to install a game using a disc and the drive isn't being reconized also when I put the disc in the little light on the disk drive does flash so it is getting power. so I went into device mangaer uninstalled it and then went to re start computer and now it cant find anything in the bios it doesn't even say anthing is plugged into the spot.. should I try switching around the ports I did that once but nothing really happened I'm really at a loss here I'm so confused. I don't get why it isn't reading the hardware  it wont show up in bios, also I'm on windows 10
