Pc not booting! Black or flickering screen :/ please help!

Go to solution Solved by Anghammarad,

could be a corrupted installation, dying/dead system drive, broken drivers.

I won't go hinting to gfx card or mainboard.

You can get into bios and get until after bios post is done.

Hello Linus Tech Tips community,

I have built my pc arround 1 year and a half ago. I never had any major problems with it. Yesterday I reinstalled windows with the microsoft tool keeping all my files. It was working, played for a few hours.

Today I wated to turn it on but it wouldn't boot (black screen) it stills post. I press tge reset button on my asus motherboard and selected my ssd as my boot device, sams thing black screen, if a select boot manager I have a white and black flickering screen.

I am so lost! I tried everything that I could tgink of and searched online. Any help would be very much appreciated

Thank you very much!

Do you have another boot drive? or device?. If you do go with that for testing. I think your OS just got corrupted.

Great idea! I have a empty ssd, I will test to see if the hardware is ok. It's probably the Os

Then yep drive dead, or installation broken, or driver in the fresh windows which goes to windows dead.
