BJT Transistors help

kleanthisky

Hi,

im studying about electronics and im kind of stuck at the theory of bjt transistors.

can I use the formulas Ic = a*Ie and Ic = β*Ib at any assembly (common base, emmiter, collector) or each one is for a specific circuit?

thanks in advance

It depends on how the transistor is wired up, whether its common base, common emitter, or common collector. Read more here: http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/transistor/tran_1.html
