one of my friends is getting into quads and they have an eachine e010 and i i offered to solder on a 25mw fpv camera for him but i dont really know what to tell him to get. He can spend around $80 for both the camera and monitor/goggles. He would really like to record the dvr footage which is where im getting stuck. any help?

You most likely found visors, not goggles. They are still very good for a beginner. Either way, if you want something good but still cheap (discounts may expire soon though):

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/visionplus-fpv-goggles.html 36 USD

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/wireless-mini-fpv-camera-with-whip-antenna.html 21 USD

No DVR that I could find for under 50 bucks though :/

I got these for my starter setup.

Goggles(Box Style no DVR or A/V out) $50 when I got it.

Camera/VTX AIO

I'd say look for a set that has A/V out so he can record to something like this if he really wants a DVR after flying for a bit.

DVR(CrazePony)

DVR(Eachine)
