so I am coming from an AMD FX-8350, 8 core so I am used to quite heavy multitasking like watching YouTube while rendering 1080p video, basically what I'm saying is I want an 8 core. I have +- 300 to 400 Euros and I want to buy:

-CPU

-motherboard (if necessary (currently AM3+ of course))

-Graphics card

Thanks, Pol

well, that's nice. but I don't need ram, I am living good with 8GB.

but are you sure about AMD? I'm not...

Ryzen is considerably more powerful than FX was, Ryzen is what FX should have been. Ryzen uses DDR4, so you'll need that revision of it to work. Xeon's are rather expensive, even Ivy-Bridge EP is still quite expensive for a relatively old architecture.

Yours faithfully

that is the problem, I won't be able to afford RAM and a Graphics card.

Then realistically don't upgrade. While the FX-8350 is older and kinda shit, it still has 8 cores and when overclocked to kingdom come with a beefy cooler, it preforms alright.

ok, I had considered that, because that does leave me with a nice budget for the Graphics card and a freezing cooler :D

Likewise don't go sub ambient, it isn't all that easy to pull off (I do it a lot but that's the overclocking life). Just get like a Corsair H115 and make the CPU beg, or save up more ofr Ryzen, it'll serve you better.

Yours faithfully

Honestly if you're spending that much money on a high end cooler, I'd rather save another $100-150 and get an R5 1400. FX overclock don't scale as well as Intel, you'd be better off grabbing a 212 EVO and getting to 4.6-.8GHz.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
