Ram Upgrade Predicament

Hello all, Ive been doing research and have found that my laptop can handle up to 16 gb of ram and is up-gradable. However as I have no experience with this I don't know if there's a difference between single and double sticks of ram, all I know is that it needs to be 1.35V.  Thanks to anyone who can help with this problem.

P.S. being linked to a good deal wouldn't hurt(I live in Texas in case shipping is an issue).

Why don't you tell us your laptop model? Have you open up your laptop to see how many ram slot there are. If there only one, you need to get single and if double you should get another one which is same model.

How about including the make and model of the machine.  Helps in the research.

The laptop brand is Asus and the model is Q551L. There are 2 ram slots available.

So do you have laptop right now? I presume only one 8GB should be installed or could be 2x4GB unless you open it up.

Sorry I don't know how to use this forum I recently made the account. But no I have not opened the laptop yet but have seen a disassembly guide, both slots are occupied.

Well, it seem like you need to get 2x8GB dims.
