Compatibility problems?

Go to solution Solved by 3 Lions,

A Q6600 would run in that motherboard.

This may be of a very quick post, although, would such motherboard: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Compaq-531965-001-503363-000-536884-001-MicroTower-Socket-775-Motherboard-/282379142031?hash=item41bf1bc38f:g:H~MAAOSwfVpYtpve&autorefresh=true

Function with that of something like a Intel Q6600?]

Thank you very much in advance! My apologies if information has not been included.

I once did the unthinkable, back many headphones ago...

I split an audio split, again

It will?

Yep it's an LGA 775 CPU and your motherboard only supports the LGA 775 socket.

LGA 775 was really confusing.

First, you had the 900 Series chipsets for Pentium 4 and the original Core (Core Duo, Core Solo), and you couldn't update the BIOS to support Core 2

Then you have the 30/40 Series which only worked with Core 2

I agree, anything really lower than that and I get lost, so forums help a lot. Also I can't actually find the specific maximum RAM capacity of that board. I know its DDR3 but nothing other than hat currently.

I found that its the Q43 series chipset, so it should work.
