So, I bought a G402, and it's worked perfectly fine until now. I've been out of the house for about 3 days, and when I came back, I notice that I have to press down harder than usual for the middle mouse button to register a click. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hm-mm sounds like a classic "open up the thing and check it out"

i think it would be a better idea to rma it and get a replacement. That guide doesn't even cover the issue OP is having and will probably not help solve his issue

If it is still under warranty you can RMA it. If not, try the DIY method above.

You could remove the mouse wheel (I didn't try, too hard and too much time) and put it back in see if it works.

It certainly doesn't cover everything in the world but it is also worth a try
