Power Supply/ Cable Troubles

So I'm about to start my first build (a water-cooled one) and I was trying to see if all the parts worked before I put them in the case. So I assembled it all and when I turned on the power supply nothing happened. I have a corsair 750RMX and the cables are almost impossible to put in all the way. I was not able to push the motherboard cable all the way in. I did test the power supply with a paperclip and the fan did spin. I am getting some cablemod cables in tomorrow, but what can I do in case those have trouble too? Is there a problem with the supply?

soundslike you dont have cpu power plugged in.

can we get a picture of everything all plugged in and we can tell you if you're missing anything obvious

I had 8 pin cpu, 24 pin, 2 pcie for graphics card, and an m.2 ssd

Do you have to put it on standoffs if you're testing it outside the case just to see that everything works?

2. cardboard box should do outside the case. if in the case use standoffs. otherwise use motherboard or other cardboard box.

Yes what does this have to do with the system not turning on. No fans would spin or anything on graphics card, cooler, and power supply. Also no lights lit up on my motherboard.

Please post photos as recommended by @Tsuki showing what is connected and for the main connectors how far they have gone in. I suspect that the cables are not going in far enough for full contact. Had this happen with my flatmates PC. Pull the cables out and put them back it ensuring they went all the way in and worked fine

I will try this once I get my new cables.
