Which gtx 1070, FTW or Strix

im planning on getting a gaming pc without upgrading in 5 years, thats why im getting a 1070 instead of 1060.

 

So im wondering if i should get the EVGA SSC ($540 CAD) or EVGA FTW ($550 CAD) or the ASUS Strix NON OC($569)

 

I know there is an OC version for some of these cards but i'd rather manually overclock and save some money. So which on should i get?

I've got a Strix 1080, and I absolutely adore it

insanely quiet, sensible lighting zones, and a sleek design. Pretty much perfect.

The 1070 is essentially the same cooler, but on a card with a lower TDP, so it'll perform even better.

It is a long card, so make sure your case has room.

5 years? idk man games only get more heavy to run,wouldnt be so sure about it being enjoyable for that long

well my dad had his amd 290x for about 7 years i think, back then he could have played batman arkham asylum at 100fps max. Now that card can play Rise of the tombraider at around high at 40 fps. Considering his card is about 250$ thats pretty good.

1. Take Size into consideration first.

2. The asus Strix is either a little quieter or a little cooler running than an FTW.

 

I prefer EVGA as their support is the absolute best. Ive never got any issue getting something replaced etc.

Probably was a 7970 or something along them lines. Still, not running down the longevity of the cards -- they were good. Games have become fairly demanding though.

I use the Strix 1070, it's the best card I've ever used hands down. It's essentially a near-silent heatsink that also happens to push graphics at the same time, After a few hours of benchmarking I've never seen the card go above 61c (Custom fan curve, very slightly over the normal curve)

 

The neutral colour scheme fits with any sort of build as well, as the LED's can be changed to be whatever colour you desire, or off if it suits you.

 

TL:DR Strix card best card.

Hmm, I have two 1070 for rendering, the MSI Gaming X and the EVGA FTW. I'd say go for the Strix; it runs cooler. I'd also vote for the MSI Gaming X if I had to choose between the two that I own.
