Cant find CMOS pin on laptop motherboard (URGENT)

So, I was dumb and I decided to update to the windows 10 creators update with a windows 10 anniversary update theme installed. it would not go off of the login screen. later, i determined to boot in Linux and delete the rouge theme and UXStyle off of my computer. when trying to change the boot path, my BIOS managed to take on a password that I didn't recognize. when trying to find the CMOS pads on my MB, i couldn't find them. would it be more efficient to boot Linux on a different computer with the hard drive in and do it that way instead.

Any help would be appreciated.

Laptop Model: Acer Aspire V15 V3-575-50td

There's no CMOS pin, you have to take out the CMOS battery for about a minute and boot it back up.

You spelled that wrong.

Quote directly from the article:

Quote

Disconnect the power adapter from the back of the Acer laptop.

Close the lid and flip the Acer laptop upside down.

Remove the main battery from the laptop and open the hard drive compartment cover by removing the screws and sliding the cover about a quarter inch and then lifting it up.

Remove the two screws holding the hard drive in place and slide the hard drive out of the system.

Disconnect the small power lead that attaches the BIOS clock battery to the motherboard and wait about an hour before reconnecting it. Alternately locate the small metal pads on the motherboard marked "CLRP1" and place a conductive tool across the contacts, and then connect the power cord and hold the power button on until the system boots up past the BIOS power on self test. Release the power button and disconnect the power cord.

Replace the hard drive and battery, and connect the power adapter.

Just do it the other way, it doesn't say that they are required (and may not even be in your laptop)
