2nd Monitor Resolution help

kaiju_wars

So I have two monitors on my desk, much like a lot of people do.  My first monitor is the HP 25vx, it's a 25 inch 1080p panel.  The 2nd monitor that I got from a friend is the Dell ST2010B.

Here's the weird thing about this monitor, according to the user manual, Dell themselves, and even Windows all say this is a 1600x900 panel, but Windows gives me the option to set the resolution to 1080p.

Now, it displays 1080p fairly decently, but due to the monitor being 20 inches, things can get on the small side.

What I'm wondering is, is the resolution only 900p, is it 1080p, and should I set it to 1080p or leave it on 900p?

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

i believe there are programs to verify the resolution of monitors, so i would run one of those and find the true resolution of that panel

               EVGA 650 GQ | AOC 60Hz Freesync Panels x2 | AOC 144hz Freesync Panel x1

I can.  Windows says that 1600x900 is the recommended resolution, but it lets me set it to 1080p if I want to.

Some displays support receiving higher resolutions than their panels are, and downscale the image to the panel's actual resolution.

Alright, thank you.
