It depends on if you're doing RAM intensive tasks.  Just as a jump from a GT 630 to a 780 Ti wouldn't make any noticeable difference in your word processing, you would have to open a game to find that out.

 

I will say, it takes a pretty heavy load for multi-channel RAM to be important though, and it will not make any noticeable difference unless you are trying to run the adobe master collection all at once or something.

If you have alot of RAM to spare, I believe it is possible to allocate a few GB of RAM to a game to act as a "special" storage. I don't really know how it works, but it's supposed to increase loading times dramatically, way more than an SSD and also improving performance by a certain degree. I'm not sure how it's done, but I know there is something like that. So it's not completly useless to have high amounts of GB of RAM for gaming.

For editing and stuff, it is out of question that more RAM will definetly help.
