 I don't know much bout this stuff. Just wondering if my i7 6700 cpu is compatible with ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero motherboard?

yes but that is an extremely expensive mobo on a non oc 6700.it will work but it's a big waste

Agreed. But i've been upgrading my pc. Just bought a razer h440 case, x62 kraken cpu cooler. But the cooler doesnt lit up cuz my mobo is outdated.

Just cuz it works doesn't mean you need to buy it.  That's a lot of money just to get a light on the cooler that works.

corsair x650w power suppply
