My friend has his PC in his bedroom. He also has a window air conditioning unit. He noticed something a bit strange...

When ever he turned on or off the air conditioner, the PC would immediately make a sound as if he was connecting and disconnecting something. Take a look!

Any idea why this air conditioner could be causing this? Cuz I'm stumped. It can't be actually communicating... Nor is it actually plugged into his PC... And it shows nothing onscreen when the sound plays...

TLDR: wtf is going on?

Are they both connected to the same breaker on your home/apartment? Sometimes it can be funky. Otherwise sometimes anything electrical will simply cause interference. Other than that do you have any other device thats plugged into the same socket/breaker as the AC unit aswell as the PC? Such as an external hard drive, or secondary monitor. Because it may be causing the device to not receive enough power for a short time which makes it disconnect from the pc then quickly reconnect.

I'll ask him if it's any of these things. I think both are plugged in to the same outlet, but the outlet should be able to provide full power to both.

They should deliver full power but sometimes even a split second "NEED LOTS OF POWER" of an AC Unit can throw it off for a split second.
