Subtitle on set top box

Hello everyone. I have an old LCD television and it doesn't support H264 codec. So i watch film, series and anime on set top box (Teledünya HD 8800). Unfortunately, it's doesn't open subtitles. I try everything like embedding subtitles with mkvtoolnix, or change sub format. But nothing works except hardsub. To making hardsub, i need rendering video and it's decrease quality and increase file size. Also needs too many time.

 

How can i open subtitle on this set top box?
