Will these two work together?

If yes, how do I connect them to source and headphones/speakers?

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Technically yes, but I don't really see the point. You should need to lave the volume pot on the DAC/amp at 100% and use the pre-amp to control the volume.

They connect like you would expect. All the connections are labelled clearly.

he can't use the tube thing for his headphones, since the combo only have outputs, but yeah for speakers sure.

If he gets that DAC/amp, he can.

no? It doesn't have any inputs for analog, only digital inputs

But if the DAC/Amp has analog input, will it work?

Yeah you could do: onboard -> tube preamp -> combo

I would say it is highly unlikely that you would be able to use the DAC in the combo if you want to use that tube preamp, since then it would be: combo -> tube preamp -> combo. I have yet to see a combo that can do that.

But if I have the FX-Audio Tube-01 and I want to use it for listening to music from my computer to headphones... what other things (dac, amps etc.,) will I need to make it work and how do I set them up?

as I said before you can connect your PCs onboard to the tube-01 via a 3.5mm to stereo RCA and then get an amp which you can connect to the tube 01 via a stereo RCA.

If you don't want to use onboard, then you will need to buy a separate DAC
