Apartment Media System

Hey guys, New here so there may already be discussion on this but I think this will be the right place to ask!

 

I am looking to build a new home theater system for my apartment, I will be streaming tv, movies, and music through my computer. I will also be running an Xbox in the system, I'm not good enough to only play pc games yet.

 

One big thing is, I want to be able to stream all audio through a pair of wireless headphones.

 

What components would you use?

- GPU and CPU?

- Soundcard?

- Bluetooth Transmitter? Wifi transmitter?

- Wireless Headphones?

Budget is $3000

 

If you have any experience with this sort of setup I would love to hear what you used and any problems you had.

$3000 is overkill for a media system, unless you plan to game on it.

 

R5 1600, a 470/480 570/580 1060, 16 gigs of ram, storage, a decent motherboard, a nice looking case, psu should only set you back at most $1200-1300.

For $3000 you can throw in a 4k TV alongside the rig and peripherals

If you just want streaming just get a Roku.
