They are many reasons why a dead pixels happens. It could be a circuitry issue, or the LCD liquid got jam to black, or burned, or simply a manufacture defect (day 1 dead pixels). Jammed dead-pixels can sometimes be rectified with some programs that changes the pixel affected(you need to position the program over the dead pixel) of different colors, and after several hours, you hope that it comes back. Programs like UDPixel (free - http://udpix.free.fr/) does that.

But a true dead pixel, is a dead pixel, there is nothing you can do about it.

Good consumer grade monitor manufacture usually have a 5-6 dead pixel warranty with no zone or distance policy attached to it. They usually have 0 bright and stuck (stuck on black is considered dead pixel) policy as well. Meaning if you see 1 pixel stuck on white or color, you get a replacement.

AOC is not providing it's dead pixel policy so I can't help you there. My guess is that they don't show it, because it's filled with conditions, distances between faulty pixel and "zones" on to where they are, to simply not cover you, even if you have a pack of them. But if you want to contact them as in "giving them a shot", go ahead.

If you can return the monitor at the store, do that, and replace it with another one.
