Don't need ram, already have it. (8gb ddr4)

If I got an intel i7 7700 (non-K) would it be a good replacement for the i5 6600k.

 

Maybe a cheaper power supply, Im thinking about the semi modular ones from Corsair, the 550 watt one. They are on sale near me and I might pick one up.

 

And maybe an ssd instead, i have a portable 2 TB hard drive for my laptop

I7 7700 would be a good replacement yes, you cannot really overclock with it, but you do get the added benefit of hyper threading.

You could definitely swap out an HDD for an SSD if you have extra storage lying around.

You can check out the build @deXxterlab97 put below mine, I am not sure about Ryzen performance vs Intel chips, but he would probably know. The 1070 in that build would definitely help out with gaming performance.
