Hey,

This is probably going to be the last check for this build (link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RFQfgL), and I was wondering if there were anything incompatible/important I should know (first build).

Notes:

I don't want an SSD as I can't fit one into my budget right now, althought I may buy one later as an upgrade.

I'm planning to OC the 1600 to about 3.8 ghz, will this mobo and psu be able to handle that?

Anything else I should know? Any parts in this list that are not reliable?

Thanks.

I would prefer if it was mine to have at least a 500 watt power supply because I don't want to deal with returns

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

Mistake.

SSDs are crucial to PCs these days, especially those with a $500 or more budget.

I'd wait until you can afford an SSD, or drop the HDD and get that one later, or get 8GB RAM, and add 8GB later. You need an SSD, and installing one after a PC is built is a headache.

Yep. No problem.

the Pro 4 has only three phases, and it might be worth it to spend $4 more to get the MSI PC Mate with four, but both should handle such a mild overclock very well.

450W is also more than enough.

I highly doubt your memory will boot at anything more that 2666 until AGESA 1.0.0.6 rolls around. Just something to keep in mind. Some RAM kits (Ripjaws V 3200Mhz) I can only get up to 2400Mhz stable. :(

not necessary.

CPU TDP = 65W

GPU TDP = 150W

assuming the TDP on the CPU doubles to due overclocking (which it won't) and the TDP on the GPU goes up to 250W from overclocking (which it won't) you have a total of 380W.

no way a motherboard, some fans, peripherals, and an HDD can take 70W.

450W is plenty of headroom.

I know but I feel like it's not going to end well but it's an insane deal that he has there but it's my preference to have at least the headroom

It's an insane deal, and also, there IS headroom.

I know. Not telling him to not build.

Just suggesting alternatives to remove that will be easier to upgrade in the future, so he can include an SSD right off the bat.

Yah I totally get where you're coming from.

I have a 750W PSU on my PC, even though I've never seen it draw more than 400W from the wall.

Just trying to make it clear to OP that more than 450W is not at all needed.

@yodaobiwan1

You had a blower style 1070 so I changed that, dropped the HDD for an SSD (SSD is "essential" mass storage is not), You can save and add a HDD later, also bumped you up to a 550W just to be sure as 450W is pushing it if you intend to OC.

Other people in this thread TDP is not power drawn. Due to the nature of the PSU you should not operate it at 100% rated power, imo dont exceed 90%.
