I have a friend whose Intel i5 6402P is overheating. His idle temps are CPU 77 *C and Package 85 *C. What CPU would you guys recommend for his system? He is using the stock Intel cooler right now.

That CPU really doesn't need anything better than the stock cooler, all it needs is new thermal paste.

I agree with @LinusTechTipsFanFromDarlo, that cooler should be fine for that CPU, unless noise is an issue just replace the thermal paste.

I mean stock coolers are usually not that good. I'd like to get him something better.

The stock one is absolutely fine for that CPU, I'm guessing the thermal paste currently applied has dried up.

That's by cooler master right?

Hyper 212 is a great cooler, but all you NEED is thermal paste most likely. If you are after better appearance the hyper 212 is great but if practicality is what you're after for him, then thermal paste.
