lol why? xD

It did not never got to open markets, because 8000 series did not perform well enough compared to 7000 series.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, it's usually mass-made for sale with a company. OS's, hard drives, DVD drives, and even processors can often be bought OEM for the consumer. It's usually cheaper but usually comes with no software or adapters, and sometimes has no support.

As for this, it sounds like a rebranded 7000 series for companies that make pre-built computers and not something we'll be able to buy.

OEM is just another way to say "Only companies can get their hands on it."

You can get OEM versions of Windows operating systems, but they are usually cheaper, directly from Microsoft or their certified sellers, and you only get 1 activation, rather than multiple ones.

As for performance, 8890 would probably perform worse or equal to the 7950.

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.
