it would look visually better, but imo i'd rather find a high refresh-rate 1440p monitor, visuals are already pretty good with 1440p and the higher refresh-rate would make the experience much smoother.

for 60hz a 1070 would be enough, if you go 144/165hz a 1080/ti would be better.

Yes you will have headroom for more FPS if you get a better card

As an person who's staring at a 120Hz TN 1080p panel and a 60Hz IPS 1440p panel (both at 24 inches), I can happily say the 120Hz monitor is better :D
