Work Computer. Doesn't matter. Budgets $1250 CAN i'll be shopping at Newegg.ca, NCIX.ca, Or Canada Computers.

It isn't going to be used for anything graphically commanding. APU will do just fine.

Now this is because i sold the computer i just made for work to a friend.

So here's my plan:

A10-6800K

ASUS A88X-Pro

Be Quiet Shadow Rock 2

2x8GB of Corsair Vengeance Black 2133Mhz: Yes i need this much RAM.

Kingston SSDNOW V300 120GB

Seagate 4TB 7200RPM Drive

Cm Storm Stryker: For portability.

Corsair RM550: For Drive Expandability.

How's this sound?

I think it sounds good... :)

Open to any suggestions.

better psu

cool case with handles

no need for cpu cooler but you can take the hyper 212 evo and the build is still cheaper than yours with that weak ass apu lol.

like that cm storm stryker ? or the dark rock pro 2 ? or is it the mobo ?

Well i like the CM Storm Stryker, I thought of the Dark Rock Pro 2 because of sound, and there was nothing wrong with the motherboard. It's a solid build.just not for me.

Why so much storage?

Why so much storage?

So that i can store all our tools. Try new ones. I've found i need about 4TB worth of storage for the Toolkit we have.

I've decided to increase the Budget to $3250 However i'll be collecting the parts over the next 2 months. That's usually how i build. Collect the parts that don't change often in technology, and right at the end go on a shopping spree, and get things like the Motherboard, RAM, and CPU. So this is everything that i'll be doing:

AutoCAD

PhotoShop

Virtual Machines

General Workstation

Softplan

A metric shit ton of word processing.

As of right now this is what i'll do i think:

Intel Core i7 4930K: This is because i'll be running a lot of Virtual Machines, i need to so that i can Learn more and more operating systems, and so i can test new virus removal software. Plus the availability to go unto 64GB of RAM, is enticing. - $590

ASUS P9X79-E WS: For overall compatibility and durability. $500

Noctua NH-D14 2011 style: For a silence optimized build. - $108

2x Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB 4x4GB 1600MHZ RAM Kits: For the Virtual Machines. - $231 x 2

Corsair HX650: For Ultimate Power. - $140

Quadro K4000: For the graphics powerhouse - $900

CM Storm Trooper: For the home. - $150

Storage: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB $230

Seagate Barracuda 2TB -$100 each (I'll add these as storage fills up)

For a grand total of:

$3180 However most of these parts i can get for cheaper from the work supplier. How does this sound for a heavy duty workstation?

Again i'll be build over the next few months. The build finish date is January 20th 2014.

I'm confused. This is quite different from your original post. Mind explaining what happened?

You shouldn't order parts over time. You should get them all at once to figure out what works or not so you can rma asap.

I order parts overtime because it's easier for me.

The change in needs is due to the fact that i can use this computer for school.

Don't order parts online. Parts and prices change frequently and you should be planning the build as a whole. Save up until you can buy everything at once.

I know it's better to do it that way. It's just easier for me to order over time.
