Hello, ltt forums, I am planning a build to take to college and various LAN events, and to use as a daily driver. This is the current parts list:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mZCmhq

EDIT: I forgot to mention I already have an ssd for storage.

I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations, especially for the case, monitor, and cooling issues. This case should be durable, but i heard that the plastic construction is shoddy. Also, the monitor seems like a deal too good to be true, are there any issues?  I appreciate any help at all, thanks!

I would go with this build if I was you. This build has a stronger cpu with 4 core AND hyperthreading (which the 7600k lacks), hiwch can be useful for the future, since cpus with more thatn 4 cores are becoming Standard now. I expect games to take advantage of that soon. Also, I went for parts with good Quality rather than chep Prices. The specs are still the same (except for the gpu) and the psu is a lot better than the silverstone one in your build. I stuck to the ~1300$ Limit so you can get that Monitor you want :)

Thanks for the PSU suggestion, the reason I went with the the 6700k instead of the 7700 is because I assumed the higher clock speed of the 6600k would be better utilized by current games, as they do not generally support many threads. Maybe in the future, it would be worth the money, however, right now there is a very very small performance difference. Furthermore, i would need to sacrifice the graphics card, which is the core of the build.

If I may add my own 2 cents, I made a minor alteration to @dude49's build, by swapping the ssd and the weaker gpu for a strong 1080. @Synthetic_DeathI would strongly advice against an overclockable CPU in such a small case, since it is reliant on a very small low profile cpu cooler (less surface area for decent cooling). I doubt that the small cooler can sufficiently keep an OC cpu on reasonable temperatures and I doubt that you want to fry your CPU :P . According Noctua, this cooler is only recommended for your CPU, if there good air flow provided in the case. In your (small) case, I would thus not recommend a 7600k. The 7700 is actually a good choice over the 7600k in your case (literally) coupled with the nhl9i. It has a TDP of 65 Watts, contrary to the 7600ks 91W. Ultimately it is up to you :), have fun building, on whatever parts you settle on. Looks like a fun PC. ;)

Oh, and I added a video showing some gaming benchmark comparisons between the 7700 and the 7600k. Might help with your decision. :)

Thanks for the post! After some further thought and your recommendation, I did decide to go with the 7700.
