FX 6300 Refusing to boost?

Go to solution Solved by SpaceGhostC2C,

Check the "slow mode" switch on the motherboard, and make sure it's off.

(it's between the 24-pin connector and the SATA ports).

So i just got an fx 6300 and a MSI 970 gaming motherboard for really cheap. The issue is that the CPU caps out at around 40% usage when running prime95 or Aida64. It's stuck at 7 multiplier and 1,4ghz (0,9v).

ive set the bios to default and cleared cmos without any results. High performance mode in windows does nothing.

Im guessing there are some settings in the bios? Anybody know of this issue?

That did it! No idea why that was on...

It's a failsafe option for when the system doesn't work as intended and you need it to at least boot to fix it, I guess.

It seems this thread is already paying off,  @CALBIX @Strike105X:D
