hi all,

ik got this wierd issue i have recently bought a new monitor which is all fine and working but my i setup these display with the following cables

Hp 27ER connected with hdmi -> hdmi

Asus Vs248h connected with dvi -> hdmi

Medion somethingsomething 22" dvi -> vga and vga cable

in windows i cannot enable the medion display and windows keep saying i cannot save these settings.....

but if i disable the asus monitor i CAN enable the Medion display...

i know it isnt the GPU being a dick about using both DVI ports because my second system also has this gpu (exact model) and that system can use 3 monitors with same cable layout.

any tips or hints? o even better a solution?

(sorry for my bad english, bit drunk and not a native english speaker)

I once had this issue here's is what I did:

Select the input (HDMI, DVI or whatever you are using) on the monitor that won't work (hover over it in the monitor settings) then at the same time click "make this my main display" inside Windows display settings.

So in simple terms:

Select input on the monitor and at the same time click "make this my main display" on the disconnected monitor.

Hope this helped.

Okay, do what I said but instead click "extend this display" at the same time whilst selecting the correct input on your monitor.

And I know they aren't able to stick, that's why I suggested selecting the right input on your monitor AT THE SAME TIME. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it sometimes works.

EDIT - Also, what OS are you running?

Damn... I'm not too sure what you can do, it's obviously a bug with Windows thinking your monitor has been disconnected. Would you mind attempting a reinstall? Or trying another computer with both monitors on to see if they work together? Another method that has worked for other people is installing the newest Windows updates, if you haven't already.

Sorry that I can't help more, let me know if any of these worked or you found a solution.

EDIT: Also, have you tried enabling the displays through Nvidia Control Panel? What is your GPU?

EDIT 2: You should also try unplugging the monitor and reconnecting it with all 3 monitors plugged in at the same time, whilst the PC is on.

I'm 95% sure that to use more than 3 monitors on that GPU you need to connect one of the monitors via DisplayPort.

no, i have this gpu in a second setup and i used the same cables on that and it worked!

but it fails on this one

Did you use the same monitors too?

And did you say that that you have tried to reinstall Windows? I'm beginning think this is either a motherboard issue or Windows issue.

Is Windows in UEFI mode or Legacy? I had this issue when trying to use UEFI.
