Money isn't really an issue but I don't want to be wasting for an overbuilt system when I won't be pushing the system at all

then an i5 6500 should be perfect for your needs with that CPU you have a little headroom for a GPU upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from the Pentium G440. I'll be gaming (Nothing super intense), watching YouTube and Hulu, and doing homework. I'm looking to upgrade because I can't game and watch YouTube videos at the same time without having loading issues and the CPU is the only thing I can think of that could be the issue at this point. Not looking for overkill but also want something that I won't need to upgrade again very soon!

How much money have you got to spend?

And don't get a 6700 there's really no point if you have a 1050ti because it will bottleneck. (I have a 1050ti too XD)

I don't really have a price range, just wondering what's actually worth upgrading to

Just now, ILikeBigTree said:

it's a b150 he doesn't need to get a new board for an i5 6500 or i7 6700(k)

but the 6400 is a pretty good choice if you don't want to spend much

What are your intel suggestions? I prefer Intel over AMD but if it's really worth it I'm willing to make the switch

I don't think he needs 6 cores 12 threads a quad core is more than enough, a Ryzen r5 1400 should get the job done if you go for AMD

Not really.. it's fine with that card. I have a friend with a 6700k and a 950, CPU always at 90+% utilization

idk

Like the difference of 6500 vs 6600k, not really sure what the K is other than overclockable which I won't be doing anyways

the K is only if you want to overclock but if you want intel go for the 6500 (do know the 6600K but I thought like a 6500K?????)

that's funny cuz I have a 1050TI with an X5650 and that only gets used 60% at max in GTA 5

and my I5 3450 also 90% so and get the same performance as X5650

Honestly if you want to play games and do other things at the same time an i5 might have issues on more demanding cpu intensive games as in some games you may reach near full utilization. I would suggest getting a hyperyhreaded quad core if you want to insure that you don't run into an issue like that. It probably won't be a problem in most games but in some it might so it really depends if you care about something like that.
