-URGENT- please need help with shutting down PC

My PC isn't shutting down, tried a method of putting it in sleep mode then shutting off, now nothing is responsive even tried tiring monitor on and off, only other option is to pull the plug, but I've heard that could make data corruption

whats that, but thanks anyway I just flipped the switch on the back of the PSU, if you could still help me a little just in case that happens that would be great.

Have you tried just pressing the power button as that should trigger a shutdown (if it doesn't then holding the power button in for at least five seconds will perform a forced shut-down).
